The links have been broken down into categories by the orientation of the source in order to aid those who are looking for a particular kind of information. Thus, relevant governmental agencies are listed in one section while industry groups are listed in another section.

Non-governmental initiatives and organisations are broken down into those that have more of a consumer orientation (e.g. SlowFood, Oldways), those that have more of a producer orientation (e.g. various labelling initiatives, organic associations, etc), general policy institutes, and institutes with a specific development orientation. The differences are not always exact but should give those looking for a specific kind of group some direction.

Finally, there are a number of universities that sponsor academic programs that focus on agricultural issues or even offer degree programs that may appeal to those with an interest in sustainable agriculture.
